We understand that renting equipment requires clarity and confidence. Here are detailed answers to the most common questions about our services.

Rental Process Equipment Care Pricing & Policies

We provide a comprehensive range of certified equipment including wetsuits (3mm to 7mm thickness), BCDs (buoyancy control devices) from brands like Scubapro and Aqualung, regulators with octopus and pressure gauges, fins in various sizes, masks with tempered glass lenses, snorkels, dive computers (Suunto and Mares models), weights and weight belts, underwater torches, and safety equipment including surface marker buoys.

All items meet PADI and SSI standards and undergo inspection after each use. We stock equipment in sizes ranging from children's XS to adult XXXL, ensuring proper fit for divers of all body types.

Reservations can be made through our website booking system, by email at [email protected], or by calling +44 20 7539 2188. We recommend booking at least 48 hours before your dive date, especially during peak season (June through September) and weekends.

When reserving, provide your certification level, height, weight, shoe size, and any specific equipment preferences. A deposit of 30% is required to confirm the booking, with the balance due upon collection. We send a confirmation email with your reservation details and collection instructions within 2 hours of booking.

Yes, we require valid certification from recognized organizations such as PADI, SSI, NAUI, or equivalent. You must present your certification card and a photo ID when collecting equipment. For Open Water divers, we rent basic equipment suitable for dives up to 18 metres. Advanced and technical gear is available only to divers with appropriate certifications.

First-time renters complete a brief equipment familiarity session (15 minutes) at no extra charge. This ensures you understand how to operate the specific models we provide and can identify any potential issues before your dive.

Daily rates start at £35 for a basic package (wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel) and £65 for a full set including regulator, BCD, and dive computer. Weekly rates offer a 25% discount, and monthly rentals receive a 40% reduction. Individual items are available separately: wetsuits from £15/day, BCDs from £20/day, regulators from £18/day, and dive computers from £12/day.

Rental periods are based on 24-hour increments. Equipment collected after 2 PM is charged from the following day. Returns after 11 AM incur an additional half-day fee of £15. Multi-day packages include free storage between dives if needed.

Every item undergoes a 12-point inspection after each rental. Regulators are serviced annually by manufacturer-certified technicians and receive interim checks every 50 rental cycles. BCDs are pressure-tested for leaks, and all valves and inflators are examined. Dive computers have batteries checked and firmware updated regularly.

We maintain detailed service logs for each piece of equipment, including purchase date, service history, and usage count. Wetsuits are cleaned with specialized detergent and inspected for tears or worn seams. Items showing any signs of wear beyond manufacturer tolerances are immediately retired from rental stock. All cylinders (when provided) are within their 5-year visual inspection and hydrostatic test periods.

Normal wear is covered in the rental price. You are responsible for damage resulting from misuse or negligence. We offer optional Damage Waiver Insurance for £8/day (£45/week) that covers accidental damage up to £800 per incident, excluding loss or theft. Without this coverage, you are liable for repair costs or replacement value.

Lost items are charged at current replacement cost: regulators £250-450, BCDs £300-550, dive computers £180-400, wetsuits £120-280. Report any damage or malfunction immediately. We do not charge for equipment failures due to manufacturing defects or normal aging. A security deposit of £200 is held on a credit card during the rental period and released upon satisfactory return.

Extensions are possible subject to availability. Contact us by phone or email at least 24 hours before your scheduled return time. If the equipment is not reserved by another customer, we can extend at the daily rate. Extensions requested on the return date incur a £20 administrative fee in addition to the daily rental charge.

For extensions longer than 3 days, we may require the equipment to return for a safety check. This service is complimentary but requires 2-3 hours. Early returns do not qualify for refunds, but you can receive a credit voucher valid for 12 months equal to 50% of unused days when returned at least 48 hours early.

We offer delivery within London and surrounding areas up to 30 miles from our N1 0AE location. Delivery charges are £25 within 10 miles, £40 for 10-20 miles, and £60 for 20-30 miles. Orders over £150 receive free delivery within 15 miles. Same-day delivery is available for orders placed before 11 AM with a £15 surcharge.

Equipment is delivered in protective bags with instruction cards. Our driver will verify your certification, conduct a brief equipment overview, and collect the security deposit. Collection service is priced the same as delivery. Alternatively, visit our location at 123 Liverpool Road during business hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-18:00, Saturday 10:00-14:00.

Contact us immediately at +44 20 7539 2188. For equipment failures, we provide same-day replacement when possible (within London area) or full refund for the affected item. If a malfunction prevents diving, we refund the entire rental fee for that day. You are not charged for days you cannot use the equipment due to our equipment issues.

Keep the faulty equipment for our inspection. We may arrange collection or ask you to return it at your convenience. Document the issue with photos if possible. For emergencies during off-hours, our voicemail provides contact information for urgent equipment replacement. We partner with several dive centres across the UK who can provide substitute equipment if you are diving outside London.

Yes, we support international rentals with advance notice of at least 7 days. We provide equipment in TSA-approved bags suitable for airline travel. Additional deposit of £300 applies for international rentals, and we require proof of return travel (flight booking or ferry ticket). Rental periods for overseas use have a 7-day minimum.

We recommend purchasing our comprehensive insurance (£12/day) for international trips. Equipment must be returned within 48 hours of your return to the UK. Late returns from international trips incur £40/day penalty. We provide equipment manuals and troubleshooting guides in multiple languages. Some customers prefer our lightweight travel packages designed specifically for air transport, weighing under 15kg complete.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), bank transfers, and cash payments at our location. Online bookings require card payment for the deposit. The security deposit must be on a credit card (debit cards not accepted for security holds). Card details are processed through secure PCI-compliant systems.

For corporate accounts and dive centres, we offer invoicing with 14-day payment terms after credit approval. Regular customers can establish an account after three successful rentals. All prices include VAT. We provide detailed receipts with itemized charges. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-7 business days after equipment return and inspection.

We stock junior equipment for certified young divers aged 10-15, including smaller BCDs, lightweight regulators with easier breathing resistance, shorty wetsuits (2mm and 3mm), and appropriately sized fins and masks. All junior equipment meets PADI Junior Open Water specifications and depth limitations. We require parent or guardian signature on the rental agreement for anyone under 18.

Junior packages start at £45/day and include weight systems appropriate for smaller divers. We do not rent technical or deep diving equipment to junior divers regardless of certification. Our staff can recommend suitable equipment based on the child's size, strength, and certification level. Equipment is colour-coded for easy identification of junior-specific gear.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the rental start receive a full refund minus a £10 processing fee. Cancellations 24-48 hours prior forfeit the deposit but avoid further charges. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice result in loss of the full first day's rental fee. No-shows are charged for the entire booked period.

We understand that weather and sea conditions affect plans. If local conditions are deemed unsuitable by harbour authorities or Met Office warnings are in effect, we waive cancellation fees entirely with proof of the warning. You can reschedule once without penalty if done at least 24 hours in advance. Travel insurance that covers equipment rental is recommended for longer bookings. Refunds are processed within 5-7 working days.

Rinse all equipment thoroughly with fresh water after each dive, paying special attention to regulators (with dust cap secured), BCDs (inflate and rinse interior and exterior), and zippers. Hang wetsuits inside-out in shade to dry. Never expose equipment to direct sunlight for extended periods. Store regulators and computers in provided protective cases. Do not leave equipment in hot cars or direct heat sources.

Avoid dragging BCDs or regulators across rough surfaces. When rinsing regulators, never press the purge button unless the first stage is pressurized or properly capped. Do not attempt repairs or adjustments. If sand enters any component, rinse extensively before the next dive. We provide care instruction cards with each rental and are available by phone for any questions about proper handling during your rental period.

About Tamoke

Providing reliable underwater equipment rental services since 2015, we serve both beginners and certified divers across London and surrounding areas.

Diving equipment rental service

Our Story

Tamoke started in 2015 when a group of 5 certified PADI instructors recognized a gap in the London market for quality equipment rental. We opened our first location at 123 Liverpool Road with 50 sets of gear. Today, we maintain over 300 complete equipment sets, serving 2,000+ customers annually.

Our facility stocks BCDs from Scubapro and Aqua Lung, regulators tested to EN250 standards, and wetsuits in sizes from XS to 3XL. Each piece undergoes inspection after every rental and full servicing every 100 uses or 12 months, whichever comes first.

We work with dive centers in Brighton, Plymouth, and the Scottish Highlands, providing equipment for both UK coastal dives and international trips. Our team includes 8 full-time staff members with combined experience of 85 years in the field.

Professional diving gear maintenance

What We Offer

Our inventory includes equipment suitable for water temperatures from 10°C to 30°C. We stock 5mm and 7mm wetsuits, drysuits with thermal undergarments, and full sets of regulators with octopus and pressure gauges. All tanks are filled to 200 bar and tested according to HSE regulations.

Rental periods range from single-day bookings to month-long arrangements. We provide delivery within the M25 area for orders over £150 and offer collection points in Camden, Westminster, and Islington. Equipment can be reserved online 24 hours in advance or by phone during business hours.

Our Mission

We aim to make underwater exploration accessible by providing well-maintained equipment at transparent prices. Every rental includes a pre-dive equipment check, size fitting assistance, and 24-hour emergency contact support. Our goal is straightforward: ensure you have reliable gear that meets safety standards, so you can focus on your dive experience.

Safety Standards

All equipment meets BSAC and PADI requirements. We maintain service logs for every item and replace gear that shows wear before it affects performance. Our regulators are serviced by manufacturer-certified technicians.

Equipment Quality

We stock brands including Mares, Cressi, and Apeks. Our newest equipment is less than 6 months old, and we retire items after 5 years regardless of condition. Each BCD is pressure-tested monthly.
