Professional scuba diving equipment rental service in London

Scuba Diving Equipment Rental in London

Access Quality Gear Without the Storage Hassle

Planning a diving trip requires careful preparation, and having reliable equipment is essential. Whether you're heading to the Mediterranean, exploring British coastal waters, or travelling to tropical destinations, renting gear can be more practical than purchasing and maintaining your own. Our rental service provides access to well-maintained diving equipment without the commitment of ownership.

We stock regulators from established manufacturers, BCDs in various sizes, wetsuits suitable for different water temperatures, and masks that fit comfortably. Each piece undergoes inspection between rentals according to manufacturer guidelines. Our inventory includes equipment appropriate for recreational diving within standard depth limits. Tanks are filled following current safety protocols, and we provide weight belts with the necessary amount of lead based on your buoyancy requirements.

Renting makes sense for divers who travel frequently, those who dive occasionally, or anyone who prefers not to store bulky equipment at home. You select what you need for your specific trip, use it, and return it. We handle the maintenance, servicing, and storage. This approach works particularly well for divers who want to try different equipment configurations before making purchase decisions, or for those whose diving schedule doesn't justify owning a full set of gear.

Located in London, we serve divers preparing for trips to Cornwall, Scotland, the Channel Islands, or international destinations. Our staff can discuss equipment options based on where you'll be diving, water temperature, and your certification level. We keep records of your equipment preferences to streamline future rentals. Booking can be completed online or by visiting our location on Liverpool Road, where you can inspect equipment before confirming your reservation.

  • Complete equipment sets available for weekend or extended trips
  • Regulators serviced according to manufacturer intervals
  • Wetsuits ranging from 3mm to 7mm thickness for various conditions
  • Equipment fitting assistance to ensure proper size and comfort
  • Flexible rental periods from single days to multiple weeks

About Tamoke

Providing reliable underwater equipment rental services since 2015, we serve both beginners and certified divers across London and surrounding areas.

Diving equipment rental service

Our Story

Tamoke started in 2015 when a group of 5 certified PADI instructors recognized a gap in the London market for quality equipment rental. We opened our first location at 123 Liverpool Road with 50 sets of gear. Today, we maintain over 300 complete equipment sets, serving 2,000+ customers annually.

Our facility stocks BCDs from Scubapro and Aqua Lung, regulators tested to EN250 standards, and wetsuits in sizes from XS to 3XL. Each piece undergoes inspection after every rental and full servicing every 100 uses or 12 months, whichever comes first.

We work with dive centers in Brighton, Plymouth, and the Scottish Highlands, providing equipment for both UK coastal dives and international trips. Our team includes 8 full-time staff members with combined experience of 85 years in the field.

What Our Customers Say

Real feedback from divers who have rented equipment from us across the UK

Rented a full set for a week in Cornwall. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and fitted perfectly. The BCD was a newer model than I expected, and the regulator worked flawlessly at 30 metres. Staff checked all my measurements beforehand, so nothing needed adjustment when I picked it up. Will definitely use again.

Good service overall. The wetsuit was 5mm as requested, kept me warm in Scottish waters. Only minor issue was the collection took about 20 minutes longer than scheduled, but the quality of the gear made up for it.

Excellent value for money. Rented fins, mask, and snorkel for £25 for three days. Equipment was in perfect condition.

I needed equipment for my PADI Advanced course and didn't want to invest in buying everything yet. Tamoke provided a complete package including dive computer, compass, and torch. The computer was a Suunto model with clear display, easy to read underwater. Staff explained all the settings before I left. The rental cost was £180 for two weeks, which seemed reasonable compared to buying. Everything was serviced recently according to the maintenance logs they showed me. Returned everything without issues, got my deposit back within 48 hours.

Had an issue with my own regulator the day before a planned dive trip. Called them in the morning, they had a replacement ready by noon. The backup regulator performed well, no problems during six dives over the weekend. Quick response saved my trip.

The equipment worked fine, no complaints about functionality. Wetsuit fit well, tank had proper pressure. However, would appreciate more variety in BCD sizes - the medium was slightly loose for me. Also, the booking confirmation email arrived quite late. Still, decent option for occasional rentals.

Organized equipment for a group of eight divers visiting from abroad. They coordinated everything, had all sets ready at the agreed time, and provided a detailed briefing on local conditions. The logistics were handled professionally, which made our job as organizers much easier. Pricing was transparent with group discount applied as discussed.

Solid rental service. Equipment met expectations, staff were helpful. Collection process could be faster, but otherwise no issues.

Been renting from them for three years now whenever I visit the UK. The consistency is what keeps me coming back - same high standard every time. Last rental included a 7mm semi-dry suit for cold water diving in Orkney, dive computer with air integration, and a 15-litre steel tank. Everything functioned exactly as it should. They keep records of my previous rentals, so they already know my sizes and preferences. Makes the whole process quick. The deposit system is straightforward, and they inspect equipment together with you before and after, so there are no surprises.

First time renting equipment instead of bringing my own on a flight. Saved £60 on baggage fees and the hassle of transporting tanks. The rental cost was £95 for four days, so financially it made sense. Gear was comparable to what I own. Would recommend this approach to other travelling divers.

My daughter needed equipment for her Open Water certification. They provided a complete beginner set with extra attention to safety checks. The instructor approved all the gear. Reasonable pricing for a two-week rental period at £120. Good communication throughout.

Equipment quality was acceptable for the price point. The mask had minor scratches but didn't affect visibility. Fins were standard open-heel type, worked as expected. The booking system online is straightforward. One improvement would be offering more premium options for those willing to pay extra. Overall, met basic requirements for recreational diving.

Rented a drysuit for wreck diving in Scapa Flow. The suit was a Bare Trilam, size fit correctly based on measurements I provided. One of the seals needed adjustment on the first day, but they sorted it quickly when I contacted them. The rest of the week went smoothly. Price was £210 for seven days including undersuit, which is competitive for drysuit rental.

When reserving, provide your certification level, height, weight, shoe size, and any specific equipment preferences. We send a confirmation email with your reservation details and collection instructions within 2 hours of booking.

Yes, we require valid certification from recognized organizations such as PADI, SSI, NAUI, or equivalent. You must present your certification card and a photo ID when collecting equipment. For Open Water divers, we rent basic equipment suitable for dives up to 18 metres. Advanced and technical gear is available only to divers with appropriate certifications.

First-time renters complete a brief equipment familiarity session (15 minutes) at no extra charge. This ensures you understand how to operate the specific models we provide and can identify any potential issues before your dive.

Daily rates start at £35 for a basic package (wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel) and £65 for a full set including regulator, BCD, and dive computer. Weekly rates offer a 25% discount, and monthly rentals receive a 40% reduction. Individual items are available separately: wetsuits from £15/day, BCDs from £20/day, regulators from £18/day, and dive computers from £12/day.

Rental periods are based on 24-hour increments. Equipment collected after 2 PM is charged from the following day. Returns after 11 AM incur an additional half-day fee of £15. Multi-day packages include free storage between dives if needed.

Every item undergoes a 12-point inspection after each rental. Regulators are serviced annually by manufacturer-certified technicians and receive interim checks every 50 rental cycles. BCDs are pressure-tested for leaks, and all valves and inflators are examined. Dive computers have batteries checked and firmware updated regularly.

We maintain detailed service logs for each piece of equipment, including purchase date, service history, and usage count. Wetsuits are cleaned with specialized detergent and inspected for tears or worn seams. Items showing any signs of wear beyond manufacturer tolerances are immediately retired from rental stock. All cylinders (when provided) are within their 5-year visual inspection and hydrostatic test periods.

Normal wear is covered in the rental price. You are responsible for damage resulting from misuse or negligence. We offer optional Damage Waiver Insurance for £8/day (£45/week) that covers accidental damage up to £800 per incident, excluding loss or theft. Without this coverage, you are liable for repair costs or replacement value.

Lost items are charged at current replacement cost: regulators £250-450, BCDs £300-550, dive computers £180-400, wetsuits £120-280. Report any damage or malfunction immediately. We do not charge for equipment failures due to manufacturing defects or normal aging. A security deposit of £200 is held on a credit card during the rental period and released upon satisfactory return.

Extensions are possible subject to availability. Contact us by phone or email at least 24 hours before your scheduled return time. If the equipment is not reserved by another customer, we can extend at the daily rate. Extensions requested on the return date incur a £20 administrative fee in addition to the daily rental charge.

For extensions longer than 3 days, we may require the equipment to return for a safety check. This service is complimentary but requires 2-3 hours. Early returns do not qualify for refunds, but you can receive a credit voucher valid for 12 months equal to 50% of unused days when returned at least 48 hours early.

We offer delivery within London and surrounding areas up to 30 miles from our N1 0AE location. Delivery charges are £25 within 10 miles, £40 for 10-20 miles, and £60 for 20-30 miles. Equipment is delivered in protective bags with instruction cards. Our driver will verify your certification, conduct a brief equipment overview, and collect the security deposit. Collection service is priced the same as delivery. Alternatively, visit our location at 123 Liverpool Road during business hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-18:00, Saturday 10:00-14:00.

Contact us immediately at +44 20 7539 2188. For equipment failures, we provide same-day replacement when possible (within London area) or full refund for the affected item. If a malfunction prevents diving, we refund the entire rental fee for that day. You are not charged for days you cannot use the equipment due to our equipment issues.

Keep the faulty equipment for our inspection. We may arrange collection or ask you to return it at your convenience. Document the issue with photos if possible. For emergencies during off-hours, our voicemail provides contact information for urgent equipment replacement. We partner with several dive centres across the UK who can provide substitute equipment if you are diving outside London.

Yes, we support international rentals with advance notice of at least 7 days. We provide equipment in TSA-approved bags suitable for airline travel. Additional deposit of £300 applies for international rentals, and we require proof of return travel (flight booking or ferry ticket). Rental periods for overseas use have a 7-day minimum.

We recommend purchasing our comprehensive insurance (£12/day) for international trips. Equipment must be returned within 48 hours of your return to the UK. Late returns from international trips incur £40/day penalty. We provide equipment manuals and troubleshooting guides in multiple languages. Some customers prefer our lightweight travel packages designed specifically for air transport, weighing under 15kg complete.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), bank transfers, and cash payments at our location. Online bookings require card payment for the deposit. The security deposit must be on a credit card (debit cards not accepted for security holds). Card details are processed through secure PCI-compliant systems.

For corporate accounts and dive centres, we offer invoicing with 14-day payment terms after credit approval. Regular customers can establish an account after three successful rentals. All prices include VAT. We provide detailed receipts with itemized charges. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-7 business days after equipment return and inspection.

We stock junior equipment for certified young divers aged 10-15, including smaller BCDs, lightweight regulators with easier breathing resistance, shorty wetsuits (2mm and 3mm), and appropriately sized fins and masks. All junior equipment meets PADI Junior Open Water specifications and depth limitations. We require parent or guardian signature on the rental agreement for anyone under 18.

Junior packages start at £45/day and include weight systems appropriate for smaller divers. We do not rent technical or deep diving equipment to junior divers regardless of certification. Our staff can recommend suitable equipment based on the child's size, strength, and certification level. Equipment is colour-coded for easy identification of junior-specific gear.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the rental start receive a full refund minus a £10 processing fee. Cancellations 24-48 hours prior forfeit the deposit but avoid further charges. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice result in loss of the full first day's rental fee. No-shows are charged for the entire booked period.

We understand that weather and sea conditions affect plans. If local conditions are deemed unsuitable by harbour authorities or Met Office warnings are in effect, we waive cancellation fees entirely with proof of the warning. You can reschedule once without penalty if done at least 24 hours in advance. Travel insurance that covers equipment rental is recommended for longer bookings. Refunds are processed within 5-7 working days.

Rinse all equipment thoroughly with fresh water after each dive, paying special attention to regulators (with dust cap secured), BCDs (inflate and rinse interior and exterior), and zippers. Hang wetsuits inside-out in shade to dry. Never expose equipment to direct sunlight for extended periods. Store regulators and computers in provided protective cases. Do not leave equipment in hot cars or direct heat sources.

Avoid dragging BCDs or regulators across rough surfaces. When rinsing regulators, never press the purge button unless the first stage is pressurized or properly capped. Do not attempt repairs or adjustments. If sand enters any component, rinse extensively before the next dive. We provide care instruction cards with each rental and are available by phone for any questions about proper handling during your rental period.
